Which team is going to lift the Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy in July? Judging by the 2021 NBA Championship odds, the Brooklyn Nets could do it for the first time in franchise history.
The Brooklyn Nets odds to win NBA Championship are +200 at the moment, meaning that the New York State-based team is thought of as one of the main candidates for the title.
Ahead of the Playoffs, their biggest competitor was the team from the west side, the LA Lakers. However, with the Lakers out of the picture, the Nets are even stronger favorites.

Can Brooklyn Nets Snatch the Trophy in 2021?
If the Nets manage to win the title in 2021, it’s going to be the franchise’s first NBA Championship in history.
This shouldn’t surprise anyone, as the Nets weren’t too strong of a team in the past. They did win the East two times in a row in the early 2000s when the team was based in Brooklyn. However, the brightest era in franchise history is the current one.
The good days for the Nets came when Taiwanese-Hong Kong-Canadian businessman Joseph Tsai spent $2.3 billion for a 49% stake in 2017. Since then, the franchise saw some major changes, most of which were very positive.
First, in 2019, the Nets signed superstar forward Kevin Durant, the winner of two NBA Championships. Then, they hired the legendary Canadian baller, Steve Nash, as their head coach in September 2020.
Still, the biggest highlight of Tsai’s reign at Brooklyn (thus far) is what happened in January 2021. On January 14, the Nets signed James Harden from the Houston Rockets in a blockbuster $171,131,520 trade.
It’s a lot of money, but Harden has already proved his worth. In fact, in his debut for the Brooklyn Nets, the Beard got himself a triple-double, with 32 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds. Since then, we saw him scoring well over 20 points in almost every game.
Although he’s never won the NBA Championship, Harden has broken a number of records on his own. For instance, last year, we saw him becoming only the third player in history to reach 34,000 career points in the NBA. Obviously, the NBA needs to Fear the Beard!
With Harden, Durant, and other superstars on the roster, it’s no surprise the Brooklyn Nets odds to win NBA Championship are as short as +300.
